Barn Dance
Styles
The Barn Dance style can mean anything you like. It is derived and borrowed
from many traditions, but mainly the American and English styles of dance.
A barn dance is basically a group of people gathered in some kind of
suitable building (and very rarely an actual barn) for a dance to some
kind of traditional or contemporary style of music.
A Barn Dance Band can take many forms with the whole gambit of instruments
- you name it and it has probably appeared in a barn dance band line-up
at some time or other. Everything from high-tech synthesizers to tea-chest
basses and washboards.
